Kid's Holiday Gift Shop

The Kid's Holiday Gift Shop will be open December 7th, 8th & 9th, in the Activity Room from 2-6pm.

The shop includes low priced items and gives children a chance to buy small gifts for their loved ones. Gift bags will be provided so they can wrap them up on the spot.

Spaghetti Bingo Night

Spaghetti Bingo will be held on Friday, September 9th from 6-8pm in the large MPR. This is a free dinner event, but you must RSVP if you plan to eat dinner.

Staff Appreciation Week is May 2nd - May 6th

PTO is taking cash donations to purchase gift cards for a raffle that will be held at a luncheon on Wednesday, May 4th for all staff. If you are interested in donating cash, or a gift card, please place your donation in an envelope marked "PTO" and send it in by Friday, April 29th.

We greatly appreciate any and all donations.

2010 PROMOTION PHOTO INFORMATION

Photos from both rehearsal and the actual promotion ceremony have been uploaded to Skyblue's Walmart Photo account. You may view/order photos from either album. Please follow these instructions to view/order the photos from these albums:

1. Click here to view/order the 2010 rehearsal photos.

2. Click here to view/order the 2010 promotion ceremony photos.

3. Once the album opens, you can view the photos by clicking on them individually or by clicking on the Play Slideshow link located at the top of the album.

4. To order photos, you MUST have a Walmart Photo account.

5. Create an account by clicking on the Sign-Up button, located to the right of the album (see Figure 1, below), or...

6. If you already have a Walmart photo account, login with your existing account by clicking on the Sign In Here link (see Figure 1, below).

7. Complete your order. You will need a credit card to order photos online.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation week is May 10-14. This is our time to appreciate those who make Skyblue Mesa a fantastic school.

We are accepting raffle donations for our teachers from April 26th through May 7th. Gift Cards and pre-packaged gifts or baskets preferred. Please mark them "Teacher Appreciation" and drop them off at the school.

Father/Daughter Sweetheart's Dance

The Father/Daughter* Sweetheart's Dance is Saturday, February 6th from 7-8:30pm. Flyers went home on January 19th. The cost is $10 per person. Payment is due by January 29th. Semi-Formal attire is requested.

The evening will include dessert, assorted beverages and a 5 x 7 photo! We've hired a DJ and everything so do not miss this event. It's going to be a lot of fun!

Health Week Is Coming: March 23-27, 2009

Skyblue Mesa's Health Week will be March 23-27, 2009. We are looking for parent volunteers to help with lunchtime physical activities. Our three lunches run from 11:25-1:00. We also need parents to help pass out snacks before school on Walk To School Wednesday, 3/25/09.

McDonald's Fundraising Night

Skyblue Mesa is hosting a McDonald's Night on February 24, 2009 from 4pm-8pm. Why cook when you can get a bite to eat at McDonald's AND help the school at the same time?

Father & Son Night: January 17, 2009, 6-8pm

Have you ever wondered what it would be like, to play miniature golf in the dark? Well, wonder no more! Skyblue Mesa's Father & Son Night is scheduled for Saturday, January 17th from 6-8pm at Fin's Glow Zone (located in the shopping center next to Trader Joe's).

Information for this evening will be sent home the week of Jan 5th. The cost is $22 per person (Skyblue students only) and will include pizza, drinks, dessert and golf! Reservations are limited and forms are due by Jan 12th.

Holiday Family Night

Skyblue Mesa's Holiday Family Night is scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2008 from 6-8pm. This is a chance for families to get together and celebrate the holiday season. The evening will include crafts, games and a visit from Santa!

Pizza and drinks will be sold. We will also have a bake sale. If you can donate a baked item such as brownies, cookies, or cupcakes (things that can be easily served) please bring the item to the front office on either 12/4 or 12/5 (no later than 3pm).

If you are a parent that can help out during the event, please email skybluemesa_pto@yahoo.com. Help may consist of setting up, serving food, etc. Even a half hour of your time would be great.

The Holiday Boutique: Cancelled

The Holiday Boutique, scheduled for 11/15 has been cancelled due to low vendor enrollment.

The Holiday Gift Shop for Kids will be held on 11/12-11/14 from 2-6pm in the old MPR. The PTO needs some helpers to run this gift shop so if you can spare an hour or two on any of these days please email skybluemesa_pto@yahoo.com.

Holiday Boutique - Saturday, November 15, 2008

Believe it or not, it's that time of the year again and Skyblue is gearing up for it by hosting its annual Holiday Boutique! The Holiday Boutique is scheduled for Saturday, November 15th from 10am-2pm in the Skyblue Mesa parking lot*.

Grandmother Earth's Kitchen

The deadline for vendors to inquire about participation is October 30th.

This is your chance to knock a few gifts off of your list and if you're like me, you'll pick up something for yourself while you are there.

Bring the kids because there is a Holiday Gift Shop just for them! This gift shop has specially priced items so that a child can buy inexpensive gifts for his/her family. Kids love to buy gifts for their families so don't miss out on this unique opportunity.

After all of that shopping you'll be hungry so come by the Bake Sale afterward to satisfy your sweet tooth.

We need your help!

If you are a parent that is interested in donating baked goods for the bake sale, please email skybluemesa_pto@yahoo.com and let us know. We are looking for items that can be easily served, such as cookies, brownies, cupcakes. Baked goods will be accepted from November 12th through November 14th from 8am-4pm in the front office.

We are also looking for folks that are crafty! If you make holiday gift items (ornaments, wreaths, etc.) please let us know.

*If the weather is not favorable, the event will be held inside.

Fall Festival - Friday, October 24, 2008

Fall Family Night is scheduled for Friday, October 24th from 6:30-8pm at Skyblue. There will be games, prizes, music, crafts, pictures and more! This event is open to all Skyblue students and siblings. Kids must be accompanied by an adult.

If you can donate items for the bake sale, please bring your baked goods to the front office on Thursday, 10/23. We are looking for items that can be easily served (cookies, brownies, cupcakes, rice crispy treats).

Come see the class scarecrows and don't forget your costumes for our Costume Parade!

Premier Fundraiser Delivery - October 15, 2008

The Premier Fundraiser delivery is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, 2008 from 11am-6pm in the old MPR (multi-purpose room). We need some helpers so if you can help us out please send an email to skybluemesa_pto@yahoo.com.

Since this delivery includes both frozen and catalog product, it is important that items are picked-up in a timely manner. Items will not be held overnight. Please have another member of your family pick up the items if you are not able to do so.

Family Portrait Night

Family Portrait Night will be spread over two nights, October 7th & October 8th from 5:30pm-8pm. Information went home with your children this past week and sign-ups are required. You can bring pets and other props. One family even brought their ATVs one year! Don't miss out!

Upcoming Dates

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Here are some important dates for the week:

September 8, 2008 - Spirit Packs are due! The yearbook ads that are included in the spirit packs do not include the messages to the 6th graders. That will come under separate cover at a later date.

September 9, 2008 - Picture Day! Be sure to send your picture order forms along with your kids. If your child misses picture day, there will be a make-up picture day that is currently scheduled for October 28, 2008.

September 23-26, 2008 - The Book Fair is coming! Preview Day for the teachers will be on 9/23. Hours, Sept 24 (12-6), Sept 25 (8-4:30), Sept 26 (12-2).

September 29-October 3, 2008 - Fall Break. No school.

October 7-8th, 2008 - Family Portrait Night from 5:30-8pm. You will receive paperwork on this shortly before the event. This is an opportunity to take a family portrait. You can bring props and pets!

October 15, 2008 - Delivery for both frozen and catalog product for the Premier Fundraiser.

October 24, 2008 - Fall Family Night. Details to come.
